Pneumatic pressure intensifiers for generating pressure in liquids and gases. These boosters use compressed air with about 6 - 7 bar to generate pressures up to 10,000 bar.

An advantage over hydraulic driven pressure intensifiers, is the use of compressed air, which already exists in many production facilities and laboratories or can be generated easily by mobile compressors. Thus seperate hydraulic units can be dispensed.
Due to the lower efficiency of pneumatic systems, these are preferably used when only occasional pressure buildup is required.
