Safe and Easy Filling / Testing of Breathing Air Cylinders and Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBAs)

Ergonomics and operational safety are of increasing importance in the professional world - especially when it comes to filling breathing air cylinders or testing breathing apparatus in BA laboratories.

Ergonomics and operational safety are of increasing importance in the professional world - especially when it comes to filling breathing air cylinders or testing breathing apparatus in BA laboratories.

At WEH, Safety and Ergonomics come written with Capital Letters. To meet these demands the WEH engineers have developed special breathing air connectors for easy filling and testing of breathing air cylinders and respiratory air equipment. They facilitate ease of operation and at the same time provide outstanding safety features.

The leading filling connector of the BA line is the CLICKMATE® TW154. It establishes pressure-tight connections to compressed air bottles in just seconds - strenuous hand tightening is eliminated. Whether filling is via filling rigs or traditional hose systems, at 200 bar or 300 bar, WEH can always supply the appropriate CLICKMATE®. Existing filling systems equipped with screw connectors can be retrofitted without problems.

The CLICKMATE® TW154 offers excellence in safety:

  • Audible click of the operating loop confirming pressure-tight connection
  • Red / green marking indicating proper connection to cylinder valve thread
  • Integrated safety peg preventing disconnection under pressurized conditions
  • Colour coded lever avoiding mistaken use for different pressure range

The TW154 considerably simplifies workflow. With minimal effort, the CLICKMATE® grips directly onto the thread of the cylinder valve. The many benefits include the elimination of laborious hand tightening, the operators‘ joints are protected from RSI, the connection time is minimized and not least, costs are reduced.

The leading testing connector for SCBAs is the WEH® TW156 which has already been successfully used for many years. Fire brigades in particular use our product for testing breathing air equipment.

The WEH® TW156 is also equipped with the WEH® Jaw locking mechanism and can be connected to manual inlet valves of SCBAs. Designed to satisfy the requirements of BA laboratories, it is available with either manual or pneumatic actuation and suitable for a pressure range up to 375 bar. Testing procedures are simplified and test times minimized leading to significant cost reductions.

Tried-and-tested Proven Technology – for more than 45 years
Many BA laboratories rely on the compliance to regulatory standards of WEH® Connectors. All our connectors are subjected to extensive pressure and durability tests. Discover our impressive product range for the breathing air industry and its outstanding ease of operation for your personnel.
