Requirement:
Development of a quick connector for testing a steering housing. The distance between the threaded ports was only 27.5 mm, making it impossible to connect two standard connectors side by side.
Solution:
The dual connector, specially developed for this application, enables simultaneous connection to both threads despite the tight space. To bypass adjacent oil lines, the device was extended by 50 mm. Additionally, the connector was equipped with four media inlets, two of which are sealed with plugs at any given time. This allows for flexible configuration of the media supply to suit the specific test process.
Requirement:
A connector that enables functional and leak testing despite limited space.
Solution:
The pneumatically actuated TW17, specially developed for this application, creates a secure and leak-tight connection within seconds. To bypass interfering edges, the device was extended by 40 mm. The collets grip the female thread of the port.
Requirement:
A heat exchanger for automotive air conditioning systems needs to undergo leak testing. The connectors’s overall length had to be extremely short – around 50 mm – as the test is conducted in a sealed vacuum chamber. Additionally, the collets must not leave any scratches on the aluminum test piece. Another key requirement was helium leak tightness.
Solution:
To achieve the especially compact design of max. 50 mm, a custom base with a 90° media inlet was developed. For easier handling, an additional grip ring was added to the device. To prevent scratches on the test piece, the connector was equipped with special plastic collets.
